This listing is for an Ithaca Model 49 single shot lever action chambered for .22 Short/ Long/ Long Rifle with a 17" barrel. This classic beginner's rifle uses a unique Martini style tilting block action which extracts the spent shell and leaves the chamber free to load another round. The lever only operates the action, while the hammer must be cocked manually for each shot. The action and hammer operate smoothly and as intended. This rifle is equipped with an adjustable rear sight and fixed blade front sight, along with 1" sling loops on both the stock and forend. The stock and forend show nice figure in the wood and have some slight scratches and finish imperfections as can be expected on a vintage gun that has not lived its whole life in a safe. The receiver and lever also have scratches, some of which are through the finish. The gold trigger and hammer show some minimal plating wear as well. The initials "SCM" have been scratched into the bottom of the receiver by a prior owner. This is a great gun to get a youngster or new shooter into plinking, small game hunting, or target shooting!
